Anyone know where Brian Klock of Color Action Photos is now?

BUSHMAN

Sure!  He lives in Sacramento, CA.  He  (me) just retired after working for the State Parks Department for 30 years.  If you can believe it, I worked in the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division (Green Stickie Program) for 29 of those years, 2 were as a Par Ranger at Pismo Beach!  Do you or anyone happen to know where Ken Bourgeoise is?  He was a member in the late 60's and early 70's.

old love

No I don't know where Ken is now.  But if you find out, let me know.
You are with the Green Sticker Program?!
So that is where all my money went.
When were you a ranger at Pismo?  We use to go there on a monthly basis starting in May of 1978 - 2002.  Started with 90 cc  Honda
3 wheelers  and worked our way up to 250's and Suzuki 500 quads.  We moved to Nipomo which is 15 minutes from Pismo in 1990. That was great. We always camped at pole 6 way up off the beach.
Been thinking about you for a long time.  Last time I saw you was in March 1971.
So what are you doing now that you are retired?
Are you in touch with any of the old Four Aces  members?  The Kings?
Nice to hear from you.

BUSHMAN

By the way Denise.  Your user name is "old love".  Did I miss out on something back in the good old Color Action Photo days?

old love

I don't think you missed a thing.  Since we were inseparatable for a couple years way back when.
You missed out by not following through.
But that was a looonnnngg time ago. Life goes on.
Hope you are happy now.
How many weekends were we out in the middle of nowhere taking race pictures?

The last I heard about Ken was that he was in a mental care facility. This came from Harold.
Still making Chocolate chip cookies????

BUSHMAN

Thanks Suzie!  Although that's not the best of news.  He was such a good friend of mine.  He used to take me to races before I had a driver's license.  We even went all the way to Cherry Creek Utah once.  You mentioned chocolate chip cookies.  Was that my thing back then?  I don't remember at all.  Were they any good?  Also, can you put me in touch with Harold & Betty King?  Lastly, back when I was racing you shot a lot of 16mm film (at least I think that's what it was).  You shot me at some dual European scrambles making a jump that should have killed me.  Do you still have any of that old stuff and is there any possibility of getting a copy made to VCR or CD/DVD.  I'd be glad to pay for it.  For any of the old timers who'd like to get in touch with me, even though I'm retired, they hired me back cuz I'm the only one that knows how to do what I do.  Thirty years of "corporate" knowledge about the Green Stickie Program makes me important to the newbies.  Anyway, my work # with the OHV Program is (916) 324-1605, rtaylor4@surewest.net
Hope to hear from some of ya!

To Denise Rippel-Brown:
Yes, you found me and I'm glad you did.  You and I had the time of our lives when Color Action Photos was starting up back in 1969.  As I recall, you were my "film changer" as well as my girlfriend.  I'd go thru 1 roll in 1 camera, toss it to you and you'd toss me my 2nd camera with a fresh roll in it.  And how about all those trophy presentations we went to?   Wow ... those were the days!  Then there was the time I was all broken up at the 29 Palms Hospital/Clinic after crashing at the start of the Checkers River Run in 1970 and you were out at a gas stop or check point wondering where I was.  Then you found out and came back to 29 Palms to rescue me and take me home.  I could go on and on but I'd be curious to know if any of the 4 Aces remember the 2 of us together and have any stories to share.  We must have done something that drew attention to us!?!?  Although we were such a good couple and I think that was before I started drinking like a fish.  Anyway, IT'S GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU.  PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL OR GIVE ME A CALL!  I'd like to know what you've been up to all these years.

Will send you Harold's phone number later, Betty passed away several years ago.  She had cancer.  Harold lives in Paso Robles.
And about the Chocolate chop cookies,  you used to bake a big tin of them and munch to and from the desert.  Pop went out with you one time and got a kick out of it.  Remember putting your Hodaka in the VW bug... had to take a seat out and leave the glove box open for the fender.   And what about the food fight you and Harry started with the Los Gatos in the Sharon House in Virginia City.....?

BUSHMAN

Suzie...Food fight in Virginia City.  Now you're really taxing my mind.  I sure remember my Hodaka/VW trick.  Now that was creative!!   I bet the club could write a book on me from just the few short years I was a member.  Too bad I had to run off to college and then become a bureaucrat ... at least I got all my Green Sticker money back in pay and travel !!!  Don't forget about those films!  I'll bake ya a tin of cookies.
