Richie Wohlers

Racers: Ken Baez, Phil Arechiga and me.

Pit crew: Rich Wohlers, Steve Wilson, Paul Ashford and Ken's wife.

Kent Bartels was also out, but he volunteered to ride with Rescue 3 for the day.

Ken and I were scheduled to do all 4 loops.  We both finished, but at the back of the pack.  Ken stopped on the first loop for a guy with a broken arm, and I think he just cruised the rest of the race.  I took it easy early on because I was getting used to a new bike.  But it didn't take me long, so I was able to start riding hard.  But about halfway through the third loop I was having carburetor problems.  I pitted before the 4th loop and the bike wouldn't run.  Phil finally got it going for me and I went and rode the 4th loop in survival mode.  It was nice to do my first Hare & Hound in almost 2 years.

I'm pretty sure that Phil completed both of his 2 loops.

The 100's format was 4 loops.  The first loop was around 30 miles long.  The second was about 12.  The third was about 35.  The fourth was about 18.  Just under 100 miles total.  The course was not too difficult.  They had a couple of challenging sections, but the length was what made it tough for me.
