General Discussion / 100's Postponed
October 10, 2013, 09:55:12 AM

From Darren Moen:

With no signoff the Federal shut-down ending before the weekend, the 100’s and Invaders MC’shave been working towards a possible resolution.

With cooperation from the AMA, District 37 and the BLM, we have been able to arrange a solution to reschedule the 10th round of the National Hare and Hound series to November 23rd and 24th.

The AMA has agreed to allow an exception and count the race towards the National Hare and Hound series points even with the late date.

Both clubs have worked very hard towards putting together a quality race and feel it is our obligation to do everything within reason to hold a National Hare and Hound regardless of the adversity that has been thrust upon us.

The 100’s still plan to be out in the desert this weekend and look forward to seeing everyone who comes out to camp and play ride.

Thanks go out to both clubs’ members who are making an additional sacrifice this year and to the AMA, District 37 and the BLM for proactively working to make this happen.

More details will follow.

Thank you,
Darren Moen

General Discussion / Glen Helen Pit Report
March 04, 2012, 12:31:26 PM
We headed out Friday night, got to our room about 20 min. from GH.
I was really looking forward to this GP.
Then the phone call came as we were getting ready to leave the hotel.
My bike was not going to make it  ???.
Mad Jack was on his way with my bike and his van broke down on the 210  >:(. What could I do? Oh well, I guess this is what I get for trying to save a couple bucks in gas by not pulling a trailer.
So we went to GH to support the other racers.
Had fun watching, but would have loved to race.
Mark, Doc & Steve S. all raced. Looked like they had a great time.
Oh well maybe next year  :'(.
The Enduro Cross at the end of the day was great to watch........

General Discussion / 2012 Moose Run Race Report
February 13, 2012, 11:16:55 AM
2012 Moose Run Race Report,
Let me start out by saying thank you to everyone that helped put this race together and on. We definitely can not put these races on without people stepping up and making it happen, THANKS!!!!
We (Greg, Teri, Mel) pulled in Thursday night about 8:30. Kent had went and picked up a rental trailer for us (and still pulled his out also) first thing Thurs. morning and had it all set up and ready to go. KENT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!.
Fire was going,(NO WIND) a few beers and going over things with Kent and off to bed.
Got up in the morning to get started on last minute detail work (that didn't stop until Sunday morning).
We had a few people show up in the morning and off to work we went. Camp started filling up SLOW. By Friday night I do have to say I wasn't impressed with with the turn out. The few of us Club Members that were there and  all the " new guy's" and family's that were there had a good time by the fire.
Saturday got up and some more Club Members showed up and off to work we went until dark, because someone forgot to finish the finish line area (and that someone was ME, sorry my bad had a couple things on my mind), but the Aces pulled together and we got it all done, with quad head light and flash lights.
Back at camp Saturday Night.
Camp was filling in, but I still was not at ease with the number of Members that were there. Club meeting around the fire at 8:00 (I think there were more new guy's than club members still, maybe 50-50). Then about 10:00 I was done (Eric W. I'll let you tell how Saturday Night was compared to previous Moose Runs. It's a short sad story).
5:00 AM Race Day:
Teri is up and sign-ups are getting ready to open. People pulling in everywhere. More Club Members ( some we haven't seen in a while)and all our volunteer help starts showing up.
Kent started getting everyone in there places and at about 6:20 AM off to the Bomb I went and would remain there until about 2:00. Everything went very well. We had no major problems. Some injury's but that's desert racing. It was kinda cool to be able to hear everything going on and how fast the top guy's are making it to each check. To watch these pro guy's figure out there lines in a few runs and how they do there little secret things to know where to go. I think Kurt C. finished in just around 2 hours.
The race in my eyes was a success, 312 racers. No major problems anywhere, BLM seem to be happy. All our people made it in and safe and course was cleared.
To sum it up. I think we need to get more people out to the desert by Friday if at all possible. I know we have to work and have other things going on in life, but this is the Four Aces Moose Run and to be very honest with you all, I think we would have been in a very bad spot if Kent did not get John,  Eddy, Mike and few more volunteers to go out many weekends before our race to make it happen. Thanks again and again for giving us your time.
We all as Four Aces pulled together to get this race done. We did what needs to be done and all the people that I have talked to (and that's just about everyone) were very happy to work with us and said we made there day easy and enjoyable.
We had good reports from BLM (Craig) & D-37 President (Jerry G.)

THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE (Four Aces & volunteers) that helped the Four Aces to another successful Moose Run
NEXT MEETING IN APRIL PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR DETALIS...

Your President,
Greg Meyers

General Discussion / Moose Run & Work Weekend
January 11, 2012, 03:14:08 PM
We have been getting things ready for our event. Man Power is the most important thing at this time. We always get it done, but the more people we confirm now the smoother things will run race day.
So chime in and let us know how many of our future members ( how many family members & friends also) will be at work weekend and/or race weekend.
For a lot of you this is your last hoop to jump through.
Thanks,
Greg

To all our current members, our future members and families.
Merry Christmas and have a very safe and Happy New Year.....
Hope to see a lot of you out for the FOUR ACES News Years party/campout at the 2012 Moose Run Staging area.
For those of you going or thinking about going, please start getting fire wood together. There might be a bit of chill in the air  ;)

General Discussion / Four Aces MX
May 23, 2011, 01:38:07 PM
Last Thursday we had our monthly MX meeting. When we get the minutes they will get posted.
I invited Robert Lundin, the owner of AV Motoplex (where our race is July 17th). He showed up to see what we had going on.
I do have to say that him showing up, made the 4 Aces look great (again). This is the only time a track owner came out to one of our meetings. He is a very smart guy when it comes to bringing people to the races.
Do we have a Face Book page? If not we need to get one. He gave us some really good ideas to promote races (watch what So Cal will be doing for their upcoming race at the ranch, they were taking notes like crazy from him).
I talked to him after the meeting about our race. We get all Aces in for free. This is just MY suggestion. If you have a bike in your truck and your going to race pay the 10.00 bucks to the track. You won't be charged for camping (10.00 per vehicle). If your there to just work no charge.
The only thing Robert asked was that his nice's and nephew's can race for free ( his brother is hurt real bad and he brings the kids to race). I told him no problem.
We need to get the Ambulance, sanction and trophies ( I had something worked out with Grumpy, but he won't be out this Summer). If I am missing something please let me know. They have 6-7 flaggers we'll pay 10.00 per hour. In between round 1-2 they will get out the tractors if needed and water trucks.
Please make plans to be there Saturday. We can BBQ and BS then make some money for the Four Aces on Sunday!
This is going to be GREAT!

General Discussion / FE/VCMC Pit Report
May 16, 2011, 08:27:56 PM
FE- Teri & I got there about 9:30 Friday night to get ready for sign-ups. At the gate they told us we get the tower (SWEET SPOT). KGB got there a few hours before us and set up in the back.
We (not really, Teri) got up at 5:30 just to find out nothing really happens till about 8:00  . But she handled it like a pro. Everyone started showing up and things started getting crazy. We had a couple freak outs   but all was handled like we do it all Four Ace events (GO Richie!).
I know I'm going to leave someone out.
Workers: Greg, Teri, Richie, Rich, Corky, Jeff, KGB, Bus, Steve, Scott, Ryan and ?? I know I'm missing at least 2, HELP Richie!
I do have to say it got a little crazy out there with play riders on course, going backwards  ! 1st loop, not bad. 2nd loop, a few riders going the wrong way, still not real bad. 3rd loop was freakin nuts! I think at one time I had 10 bike/quads following me down a hill and a 4 seater dune buggy came haulin up the wrong way  . Got him turned around and off the trail before any miss haps. 4th loop, everyone must have been eating lunch.
We all had a good time. Very nice day to be at Gorman. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.
VCMC- Same as above, chime in if I missed you (sorry in advance).
Racers:
Ken, Chris and Ryan we're on the first line of Aces to go off. They all finished. Tell us how it was.
I think Mike Yelton was on minute 30. Steve said he saw his name on the list and I saw him but wasn't sure who it was when I was working a check. I walk down to sign-ups, to find out if he made it in. He did, hope all went well. We never saw you.
Steve and friend Robert went next. Both finished. Talk to us Steve.
After we ran sweep on Saturday and all the close calls we had, Teri was not going to race Sunday. Then the rain came. You could not ask for better riding conditions. So off to sign-ups she went. She said she loved it. Kicked ass in all the specials and the dirt was great.
Andy our other prospect was out there racing too. His day didn't go so well. Broken chain = DNF. But it was really nice talking to him and Ryan and getting to know them a little bit.
I worked a check for VCMC. Had a great time yelling at you guys going through my check. It is nice helping out, but after the rain, I think I would have rather raced.
It was great to see everyone.
