General Discussion / Ghostrider Pit Report
October 17, 2011, 09:21:53 AM
KGB and Bus arrived in the nick of time to secure the 52 minute with Bob Roberts and get sound checked fueled and off to the line.  Without any time keeping equipment I keyed off of Bus and Bob.  With approximately 40 miles of the easy terrain in Red Mountain for enduro, I only dropped a minute and 45 seconds and crashed once right in front of the camera guy.   The first loop was fun and quick, and seemed reasonably laid out. Came in and saw Kent Bartels, providing pit crew cheer support (worth a point in my opinion), and  Mike Yelton on minute 19 with Steve D who had already left for his second loop.

Got going on the second loop and kept being held up by the guys in front of us not yielding to our group catching them.  Frustrating on a couple of occasions, but getting it done nonetheless.  The second loop had a couple of hills that were somewhat challenging, but at mile 40 of the second loop it started to drag on to the finish of the loop.  The loop was kinda boring near the end and seemed to tack miles on for the sake of having the number of miles add up to a sizeable total of approximately 50.   The end of loop 2 got really close to camp and then sent you through a series of twisted trails so close to one another that you have pay close attention not to lose sight of the ribbon.  It sucked so much energy that completing the additional 15 miles for the experts was too much for me and  I called it quits early. I need to ride more often.

Four Aces that raced that I know was there:

BUS
KGB
Mike Yelton
