Steve D and his prospective future member Robert Furmanski and I held down minute 70 in 6-8 inches of snow.  Ruts were formed to depths of 18 inches in areas.  Although the course was shorten for safety reasons, we did not mind since the temps were below freezing and adding wind chill to mix did not make it any more endearing to go any further.  Taking to the start while it was snowing and conditions were so sloppy you had to rely on ruts to get you through the course.  Clear visibility became critical for doing well.  Bike and truck are covered in muck.  The drive there and back were interesting, and with 4wd made it doable.  Thanks for the gas steve!

I got out to the dez around 8:30 on Friday and by the time I unloaded 4 motorcycles and quad, I was ready for some shut-eye, seeing as I had to get signed up and to the line by 9 am Sat. and no sodeez until after Easter was an easy call.

I lined up next to Paul Krause and damn that guy is ridiculous fast. Got mid pack by the end of the bomb both days and seemed to stay there without too much chaos around me.  Liked the B course better, because there were less hidden rocks and by the 3rd lap the dust was less intense. See you all Sunday at Anza....

Planning on being a day trip for me, depending on how I fare through a birthday celebration and a buddy of mine and his wife are also throwing a baby shower. Could be getting as wasted as being at the camp fire!

Glad everyone (almost eveyone KGB) had a good and safe ride. Wish i could be out there also. I have been trying to find out how the course was on the D37 message board but it seems as if everyone is beat or they just have any stories to tell, which is weird for a DMC course.

I think everyone is keeping comments to a minimum since Lance Black was a fatality. Lance was an awesome guy to race with and pretty nice guy all around. As an ammie we engaged in a few contests, where he always seemed to get the better of me. The accident must have happened behind me because I only came up on one downed rider that was being taken care of and was standing up waving me on.

Made it to DMC but did not find any Four Aces other than Paul Ashford, and Jerry Mann hanging out by Brett and Glenn.  So Jerry and Brett pitted me.  Sorry, looked for stakes and flags but I could not find you guys.
First time starting with Expert line at a National Hare and Hound....what a chaotic start everywhere dust, nearly got T-boned by someone on a yz 250 going mach III trying to avoid the dust.  There is a whole other level of competition on the expert line for sure. Nuts! My start was prolly mid pack but was picked off by several better riders.  Came into the pits and Jerry and Brett were surprised to see me in so early or forgot I was on the expert line.   I took a digger past Boone Rd going uphill on Loop 2, tagged a rock and endo'd 4th gear humming.  Steve Williams was behind me when it happened and said I was lucky.  Spectators atop the hill that saw it got a rider a Checker down to help. Lost a lot of energy and time getting going again.  By the time I got going again, I had lost about 10 mins. and my rythme was out of sync.  The second loop had two or three sections requiring some skill, the rest was relegated to a freeway of highspeed sections that had a few pucker rocks to keep you honest. After already hitting the deck I rode to fininsh.

Nice one Mr. Bartels, should I list you as my sponsor next time?  I will take the time keeping equipment, even though we did well without it. It's all about know how. 8)

Depending on my mood, I could be a last minute show on Sunday

Mr. Bartels may have enduro bug, I see.  Having had the 4 stroke 450 for a while, I learned after the 3rd motor that I could have had a good used bike for the cost of rebuilding. What year Yammie you need a carb for?

I'll be there bright and early Sat. morning flying the flag!

Kent when will you be rolling in (with your new trailer)?

Friday around noon.

Changing plans and I'll be arriving Sunday morning (I'm already burned out with work/moose run preperation/keeping bikes up from last two races!)  not sure if i'll race or just do PITS (depends on how cold it is)!  ;D

You don't get transfers working the PITS :o :o :o or DNF'n

Got there Friday night around 6 pm.  Went play riding on Saturday with the grandkids and wife.  Bus arrived around 9pm Saturday and after copious sodeez we put out the fire around midnight....Damn 8:16 came up quick.

Sunday, should have sensed it was going to be a challenging day when Bus' bike would not start and after a bump start it, made it to the start line.  Met up with Kent and John and away we went. Only at the 2.9 mile marker did I find out Bus out timekeeper was MIA. So onward the Three Aces from minute 16 pushed with no odometer, roll chart or watch.  We were on time suprisingly on a few checks and I burned one by 2 seconds. Kent and John were on time.  Then at the break, I thought that I had more time to eat and rest up. Kent, John and Eddie came by the trailer and indicated no word on Bus. We assumed he was still out on Loop 1 while we were heading out to our loop 2.  I happened to arrive 11 minutes late. So KGB hauled it like it was a 2nd loop Hare and Hound. Came across Kent at around 8 miles in and told me he was done with a bummed clutch and John was with guys on minute 20 but I never saw John again.  By the time I completed loop 2, my time was back to 19.  The third loop was fun and challenging with no real stupid stuff.  Most of my sucess came from keying off of Van Fossen and his buddy on minute 15.  Saw Steve D. truck after I went hand in my card, and spoke with his buddy Robert who waiting for Steve to come in on minute95. All in all had a very good time racing.

Since I will be having the whole famn damily out, with little critters I will be setting up away from sign ups in an area that I can watch out for them.  I will be heading out Friday around 3 pm. Hopefully, getting there before dark.  Unfortunately, still no timekeeping equipment. So Bus, you will be the lead guy! Go three loops !!!!

Sounds like an awesome gathering, sorry I missed it.  Had famn damily out and tried to get the son and  his wife to go ride but their agenda was to see the sights of California instead of camping and riding.  Got another toy for the grand kidz to try....2005 KX 100, will have the entire herd out at the enduro.  Did get to go to the track and put in a solid run or two.  Got to get better though.  Depending on workload, I may show for Snackrabbits!
