Number 1 sidecar was Mike Parti aka Penguin.  Passenger is probably Jim Moffett.

Higher resolutions photo would help.  One track he was positive was Costa Mesa, one we were thinking it could be at Calabassas, not sure where the one with the Joshua tree was, could have been Sir Keigen Stadium (1948 -early 1950"s).  The one with the 4 Ace, he said it wasn't Pop.   He knew him at that point in time and # 46 could have been Leo Robbins (1948), Chuck Morris (1947), Bob Shirey (1949) or earlier, Harry Feuerheim.

I am going to try to print out the photos, but higher res. would help.

After cleaning up the photos, they may be later than I thought, but still in the early 1940's... Know a guy that used to hang out at BOZO's Indian Motorcycle Shop in Santa Monica.  Have been invited down to have a chat with him.  He didn't recognize the race track.  Will see another old timer this Thursday and will check with him.

Motorcycle race 3 is backwards,,, rider is #53, but haven't found him in the program yet.   #4 is listed as George Seeger, #37 is Chuck Basney (I know Chuck Junior), #22 Louis Lista.

Was thinking the track was SirKegian Stadium, but not so,  It materialized between 1948,  and pop's number had changed to 49x by then.

If the photos were in better resolution, I would take them to a couple vintage friends of mine and ask a few questions.  But do know for sure, #46 is my dad and 37 is Chuck Basney.  Still haven't placed the track, that is what I need Parti or Ekins for.  One is a history buff and the other has been there/done that and has a sharp memory.

A big thank you to the Los Gatos for serving me a nice HOT breakfast at the sign up area Sunday Morning... and a to Earl Mulis who helped me at the finish line pulling cards.  Those cards with tabs made it easier to pull the tape loose and didn't tare the cards.

Do have finish pins for those who I missed, that worked the race.

Love the new jerseys with the old design... easier to spot our members from a distance.

It is fun when we meet up wit members from the past.  I was with a friend when he went to look at an old 1941 Mercury that was for sell... turned out to be one of my computer club members house.... when an old neighbor was ambeling over the guys scooted (escaped) to the back yard... I got to talking to him and it turned out that His name is Jim Bear and he said he used to belong to the Four Aces... I asked him when.... 1939 t0 1943.... He and Moose (Mason) Page grew up together and it was his mom that tacked Moose with his nickname.

Homer Knapp just talked to one of our members up in Oregon,,, he is 81,, can't remember his name but will find out.  Have the old 1952 -1953 slides about ready for his inspection before making   disks....  One of the Posters is dated 11953,,, the events are from the Four Aces, Rams, and Checkers.  Moose Run entry $1.00, Check Chase entry $2.00

I met a fellow a couple years ago named Jim Bear.  He belonged to the Four Aces from 1939 to 1943 when he went into the service.  He and Moose (Mason) Page grew up together and his mother gave Mason the nick name of Moose.

Will send you Harold's phone number later, Betty passed away several years ago.  She had cancer.  Harold lives in Paso Robles.
And about the Chocolate chop cookies,  you used to bake a big tin of them and munch to and from the desert.  Pop went out with you one time and got a kick out of it.  Remember putting your Hodaka in the VW bug... had to take a seat out and leave the glove box open for the fender.   And what about the food fight you and Harry started with the Los Gatos in the Sharon House in Virginia City.....?

The last I heard about Ken was that he was in a mental care facility. This came from Harold.
