Update, well Jason and I just finished overhalling the top end of his yz450, kind of.  Tore everything apart, values out, cam and all the other goodies.  Cleaned and checked all the Dia. with only the rings needing replaced. Overhead values, chain, piston etc... went back together super easy. New oil and h2o second kick and presto- changeo were running. :)  Bike is back in business, just needs some new plastic and it's all systems go for the Invaders run, see ya all in the pits!

General Discussion / Engine Diagnose
April 24, 2006, 05:51:43 PM
Looking for a little guidance on trouble shooting Jason's yz450f motor. We want to do the work are self's. Been reading a little,we have the service manual, some internet reading.  Sounds to me first we need to do the engine presure test , before tearing anything off? Any comments or suggestion, especially on what to make of the presure change from with-in the motor. As I understand how this presure tells about the rings, values, piston etc...
Also the bike was low on oil(but not empty) and dam near empty of coolant. J thought he could have lost those at one off the up hills about 10 miles from the finish. At least the water, does not look like it was blowing oil out the crank breather tube(Oil might have been low to start)
Should I put the fluids back in and start it? so to listen to it again?,sounded a little noisy when he finished, so he shut it off,
The values do need adjusting. Also though he had clutch problems at the last race, maybe just the clutch?

General Discussion / Double fender cards, hey Richie
October 15, 2005, 07:18:26 AM
Hey Richie,
With the 100's mc coming up and at 100 miles i was thinking---  I would like to do the 100 miles but--- maybe not.
Can I buy two fender cards so if I run the first loop and think i can go on i could still get my points for the second and third loops?
I would like to go the 100 and the $$ is not the problem.
If i run the black #s and only due one then I'm DNF? Can i go on with red numbers?

                                    Thanks,  Craig P.    :<img src=" title="Cool" />

General Discussion / MOTORCYCLE TOOLS
October 13, 2005, 08:51:39 PM
Working on my swingarm on my xr650r, does anyone know what web site would have the tools for removing bearings etc.. I would like to start buying some of these special tools. I have not contacted my dealer yet, but my book has the part #'s.  The name moto-pro comes to mind, is that it? Can't seem to find anything on this one eyed thing.
