Title: Vikings Nat'l
Post by: Ryan Romero on April 25, 2011, 11:42:45 AM
So I did the race.  Took me close to 5 hours to finish, I heard them call out finisher # 171.   I am a little ashamed, but hell, I finished and me & trigger aren't broken.  She is a little mad at me though, had to clutch the piss out of her just to get through the second loop!

Lessons learned:
1) Bring a bigger Camelbak and, energy/protein goo for the pit
2) Add a tooth in the front gear to ease up on clutcing Trigger, she was spitting and snorting all over the place
3) get a higher pressure rad cap
4) conserve energy on loop 1 for loop 2

Thanks to Chooch, Jerry, & Snowman for helping me in the pit, and to Kent for busting my chops about finishing right behind W7,  LOL  :o
Looking forward to the next race, whenever that may be...

Ryan

Ryan great job on finishing. Don't be ashamed, a national finish is something to be proud of. A few years back it took me 6hrs to do DMC on a 99 XR 600. That pin is at the top of the board.

From SNOWMAN:

QuotePIT REPORT: We had 5 racers one of which was Rick Parker(Dirt Digger)  Kent, Dan, Phil and Ryan the Prosective member. Rick, Phil signed up for 1 loop wjile Kent,Dan, and Ryan were doing 2 loops at least in theory, Chooch only made it past the first check and called it quites because he and Kent and maybe every one else stopped for down riders, R-3 was working OVERTIME. Chooch ended up helping me with Pit duties as Kent came in first and then later on Ryan showed up. We gassed them and off they went. No injuries on our part and all the bikes worked fine, so that's a positive.
Julie from RUTS came by with another prosective member named Andy and wants to guest pit with us at Badgers, he has contacted Richie on PM so we should have a good presence at Badgers.

RACERS:
Kent
DAN
Phil
Ryan

PITTERS:
Snowman
Jerry

Still a nice finish at # 171!  Just look at it this way you still finished better than Chooch & you both owe Snowman and the rest of the crew a few beers at Badgers in May!   :)

I know that preliminary results are fluid but they still made me smile today  :D

Even though I was 3rd from dead effin last, it looks like I may have grabbed a top three & almost a transfer, lol.  I think since it was Easter I had a little help from the no-shows   :o

OA   Class   Rider
89   1   Andrew Jolley
105   2   Casey Butler
127   3   Ryan Romero
1 loop   4   Dan Glick
1 loop   5   Adam Beech
DNF   6   Dustin Oblonski

Thanks again for all the help; I'll bring beers for sure at the next race I attend!
